Art Direction, Illustration and Instructional Design for a series of games funded by the US Department of Education to help learning scientists create more effective and engaging ways to train 3 executive function skills namely task switching or cognitive flexibility, inhibition and working memory.
Executive functions are important for: Paying attention, organizing and planning, emotional regulation, self-monitoring and initiating tasks and remaining focussed.

A game about hungry and thirsty aliens who come down to seek nourishment on planet earth teaches students to practice task-switching .
Gwakkamolé
A game based on Wackamole where you have to hit avocados on the head before they go back into their holes teaches students to practice inhibitory control.
Crush Station
A game about helping sea creatures hide from a scary octopus teaches students to practice working memory.
